Are textbook purchases reimbursable?

According to Ohio's legislation for the Afterschool child enrichment educational savings account, "If the student has been excused from the compulsory attendance law for the purpose of home instruction [homeschooled] under section 3321.04 of the Revised Code, purchase of curriculum and materials;..." are permissible. 

  • Homeschoolers may purchase:
    • Learning curriculum (including books)
    • Learning materials: consumables i.e. supplies which are consumed, destroyed, or expended by the student in the process of use
    • Manipulatives: physical objects that are used as teaching tools to engage students in hands-on learning.
