Funds awarded through the Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) program may be used for the following secular or nonsecular programs and services:
Academic curriculum and materials for homeschool families (view details):

Families engaged in home education whose children have been excused from compulsory education may use ACE funds to obtain curriculum materials. ACE funds cannot be used to pay tuition, including tuition for site-based or online schools.

Homeschoolers may purchase:

Learning curriculum (including books)

Learning materials: consumables, i.e., supplies that are consumed, destroyed, or expended by the student in the process of use

Manipulatives: physical objects that are used as teaching tools to engage students in hands-on learning

Please note that ACE account funds cannot be used to purchase electronic devices

Microscopes with an on/off light bulb, USB-containing curriculum, and standard STEM kits specifically designed for educational purposes are allowable

Homeschool co-ops offering access to curriculum fall within this category
- Please note that ACE account funds cannot be used to purchase Physical Education Programs
- Please note that ACE funds can not be used for field trip memberships or admission fees, including zoos, museums, etc.

Language classes:

Foreign or Sign language classes are provided in person or virtual by a credentialed provider
Music lessons:

Lessons provided in person or virtual by a credentialed provider. Instrument lessons should be one-on-one

Purchase of musical instruments and other hardware are not allowable through the ACE Educational Savings account.
Tutoring:

One-on-one tutoring in specific academic content areas in person or virtual by a credentialed instructor

Beginning September 15, 2023, all invoices for tutoring must include specific dates of service on all invoices. Date ranges are not acceptable.
- ACE funds are not available to pay for tuition for chartered nonpublic schools or related services designed to achieve student IEP goals

NOTE: Dates of service on the receipt/invoice may not be more than 30 days in advance. The only exceptions are parents seeking reimbursement for eligible homeschool curriculum that has been paid for by the parent.
